Origin and development
The department was founded in the 1991, and its development history is as follows:
- 1991, Upgraded to the National Pingtung Institute of Technology, The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Technology established a Two-year program of Bachelor Degree, which is enrolled every year.
- 1992, Two-year program of Bachelor Degree recruits two classes each year.
- 1993, The Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology was established to recruit 15 masters each year, divided into three groups: heat flow, power and control, and design & manufacturing.
- 1994, Beginning to enroll in the evening division of two-year program of Bachelor Degree, one class per year, and the two-year daytime division of two-year program of Bachelor Degree to recruit three classes each year.
- 1997, Rename to Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (including master’s degree of graduate School).
- 2000, Start enrolling the four-year program of Bachelor Degree daytime division and recruiting 1 class per year.
The three classes of the two-year program of Bachelor Degree daytime division were be abolished.
The one in-service class of two-year program of Bachelor Degree for South vocational Training Center.
The one in-service class was be recruited for the master’s degree of graduate School.
- 2008, The two-year program of Bachelor Degree evening division were be abolished.
The two class was be recruited for the four-year program of Bachelor Degree daytime division.
